Difficulty level 
Easy
height is 3500 feet,
Time to reach is around 15 minutes since you can drive down till fort foothill. else 45 minutes to climb from foot
What to see !
– Sri Parshwanath Jain Cave Temple
– Hanuman temple
– memorial of Kalyan Swami
– temple of Lord Ganesha
– will be able to see forts Jaranda, Ajikyantara, Chandan, Vandan, Vairatgad
Place to stay/take food & water
Water – cistern at fort top, however water is not drinkable
Food and stay – You have to carry food on your own and stay no necessary since small trek

How to reach
Drive down to Nandgiri (Dhumalvadi) or board a bus for Kinhaee and get down at village Nandgiri
Precautions

– use proper trekking gears for this trek
– caves may have honey bees and water levels can be high depending upon the season, be careful, wait for some time once you enter the caves till the time you get acclimatized to the darkness.
– you may carry powerful torch if you wish to observe the caves carefully

bus can reach to the fort foot hills, since we wanted to cover Yamai devi spot we decided to drive down to save time, look at the road, if it is raining you will not be able to get with bus !

On the way there is spot where you will be looking at wind mills from a very close distance where you can listen to the wind cutting sound, and its a photo spot for you

The first view to the steps to the fort, look at the old tree with roots wrapped around, its a good photo spot

 

First one would like to have look at the caves for which this fort is known for, there is no light provision inside caves, so if you are keenly interested recommended to carry a powerful torch

Rocks inside caves, see the water around, we did not dare to get inside since it was deep dark, and we did not had the powerful torch with us

as you get over the top, look at some construction showing stay and bathroom facilities, however this is not maintained, doors are stolen, things are in bad shape

Magnificent views from the fort top, after all you are at 3500 feet high

Map to fort Kalyangad from Pune  (distance ~117 kms)

You can have one day trek & trip from Pune as indicated below

First visit Solshi Shani Temple,

Second visit to Jarandeshwar Hanuman Temple

Third visit to Fort Kalyangad

Last visit to the Yamai Devi Temple and then back to Pune

This will be approximately 300 kilometers round in a day
