What are the Best places to visit in Pune ? 2020

Yes, Pune is Software hub and full of Industries. Hence many people keep visiting it for reasons.

After the work is over then obviously they want to spend time visiting best places in and around Pune.

Weekends are more than sufficient to see most of the places.

So in this post on “Places to visit in Pune” ! I have mapped and enlisted best locations, which will make your planning on weekend easy and fruitful.

So go through this simple collection of Tourist places in Pune 🙂 I have tried to incorporate the Open / Close timings of various places, tickets, do’s and don’ts which will be helpful for weekend trip.

You may like to start your tour from  central location i.e. Pune Station
Below is standard Pune Darshan Route, however you may like to study the map and decide visiting places nearby each weekday

  • Pataleshwar Caves
  • Chaturshrungi Temple
  • Ambedkar Museum
  • Tilak Museum
  • Shanivarwada (Open till 7.00 pm, sound and light show after 7 pm)
  • Lal Mahal
  • Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Temple
  • Phule Wada (Sunday closed)
  • Saras Baug Ganapati Mandir
  • Peshwa Zoo ( timing 09:00 am to 05:30 pm – Wednesday closed)
  • Peshwe park is now also called as the Peshwe Adventure Park (Visit site here)
  • Mahalaxmi Temple
  • Swamy Vivekanand Museum
  • Snake Park – Katraj (timing 10.30 am to 6 pm – Wednesday closed)

    Visiting Hours / Entry fee 25 RsFROM 1ST APRIL TO 15TH JUNE – 9.30 am TO 6.00 pm
    (Zoo gates will close at 7.00 pm)FROM 16th JUNE TO 31st MARCH – 9.30 am TO 5.00 pm
    (Zoo gates will close at 6.00 pm)
  • Mahadji Shinde’s Chatri
  • National War Museum
  • Tribal Museum

    Tribal Museum Pune Entry Fee = 10 per person for Indians / 200 per person for Foreigners

  •  Joshi’s Museum of Miniature Railways
  • Pu La Deshpande Park, Okayama Friendship Garden, the Japanese Garden, Sinhagad Road
  • Bagul Udyan -laser show and butterfly garden [update 2020]– I am not sure that this Laser show is operational now! so please check before you visit this place]
  • Tarangan
  • Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
  • Tulshibaug – Read detailed review of Tulshibaug
  • Empress garden
  • Parvati Temple
  • Katraj Jain Temple
  • Kasba Ganpati Mandir
  • Jungli Maharaj Mandir

Important Close Days : 

  • Phule Wada is closed on Sunday
  • Peshwa Zoo and Snake Park is closed on Wednesday

Saturday and Sunday5 pm to 8 pm (Shows are conducted every half an hour approx)

Saturday9.30 am  to  4.00 pm

Bagul Udyan -laser show and butterfly garden

Timing6 to 8 pm, two laser shows at 6.30 and 7.30 pm

Science Park at Chinchwad (better to spend half day for children education)
