Today on 26 January 2018, PCMC unrevealed India’s tallest flagpole at Pimpri Chinchwad.
Municipal commissioner Dinesh Waghmare had earlier suggested to build the flagpole on PCMC’s main building premises, however the location was changed for safety reasons and better visibility. As near PCMC building there are many tall buildings which might have added an obstruction, hence PCMC decided to locate the flag at Nigdi Bhakti Shakti monument, where you have ample space and visibility over a long distance.
The flag in PCMC is 102-feet-long and 80-feet-wide, flying atop a flagpole at a height of 107 meters.
