The scneic journey continued from Interlaken to Zermatt …

There is no direct train to Zermatt ,… so you have to change trains ..
Interlaken – Spiez (21 minutes)
Spiez – Visp (26 minutes)
Visp – Zermatt (1 hour 3 minutes)

 The route is scneic .. see the small size of tunnel .. it is correctly sized not to damage the mountain .. and enough for single train .. this is the thing I most liked to keep the natural mountain curves intact still finding way out … they have taken care not to chop down mountains even at such small mountain ends ..many times it is chosen to chop the tail and continue the train rails .. but here it is not like that 🙂 I give them full marks for this 🙂

Way aside the waterbody … feel the breeze .. the photo itselfs speaks a lot ..

and it continues for lonnng time .. i love to see clean water ..flowing free … not disturbed by humans .. untouched … right on the sides u keep traveling on a serpentine route … nice …

see as the tunnel passes u hv two tracks .. so some times for a few minutes u need to wait till the other train passes … but that’s fine for me since it is not necessary to have more holes in the mountains to pass the train .. one is enough … and by the time u r waiting .. u can have nice photographs though 🙂

Note all around the travel I am putting down photographs of houses around the track .. here u can see that the roof tops are different than that we saw at Lucerne or Interlaken … not sure but looks like use of Stones.. like Shahabad stones in India …

as u approach Zermatt .. u can see mountain peaks which are ice stuffed all round the year .. even in summer season .. on the contrast u can see the rocky patched mountains in the foreground …

mix of rocky patches .. the greeary .. the ice … and sky clear blue with white cloudy shades in the picture ..

From here u reach Zermatt station in 5 minutes … see the choppers on the top ! they keep on flying .. may be for tourists .. but i did not ask anyone for the choppers !

Thats the way u reach Zermatt .. in around 2.5 hours time from Interlaken ..

after u reach Zermatt railway station .. there is a telephone board .. having all the hotel numbers shown in it .. and u can have a free call to the hotel by just pressing the respective phone number .. then u can talk to the hotel guy if u want to have a ride through electric vehicles to the hotel … the hotel i selected said charges of around 5 CHF per person .. however i selected to walk since it is at 10 minutes walking distance .. and u can walk around the small town full of shops .. its interesting ..
