Planetarium Pune Built by Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) at Sahakarnagar is finally open for public, surely this will help will help increase interest in science and technology among youngsters in the city.
Cost of building this planetarium [aka tarangan] is around Rs 5 crore, as per sources information.
Deputy Mayor and senior Congress corporator Aba Bagul, spearheaded the tarangan initiative to erect this first of its kind project of 3D planetarium in Pune city which is already called as Hub of Education.
As per sources, this planetarium would be named in the fond memory of former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who took an initiative to promote science and technology while he was in the Maharashtra state government.
This project has been developed under the guidance of architect Anand Uplekar.
Visiting this brand new ‘3-D Visualization Digital’ Planetarium in Pune, you can create interest and awareness of astronomy to your child. Puneites will be able to learn about the vast mass of the universe, the journey of astronomy and facts about astrology.

They don’t start in morning 10 AM.We waited for one hour and then operator arrived at 11 am.Even at 11 he was not ready to start the show as we were only 7 people. After lot of arguments he finally agreed.The show is good.But they have no proper schedules right now.Keep some time in your hand if you are planning to visit as facility is quite new.
