Birla Ganapati Statue visit from Ghorwadeshwar.

Route is simple and straight forward, you will be easily see the small path from hill top.

Return route is through small jungle and kids would love it.

Mini Trek for Kids 2 :

Ghorwadeshwar to Birla Ganpati Temple Pune, Somatane Phata
Accessible by local train – Get down at Begadewadi railway station

Information about Birla Ganpati Temple Pune :

  • Height of Lord Ganesh statue is 72 feet
  • Base for Status is 54x54x18 feet
  • Total weight 1000 Tonnes
  • Constructed from Cement, Steel & Copper
  • Time taken for construction was 2 years
  • Founded 17 Jan 2009 by Jayshree Charitee Trust, courtesy Sarla Birla
Magic of Nine :
  • It is mentioned by the trust that as per Hindu mythology number 9 is considered to be auspicious
  • Height of idol 72 feet, 7 + 2 = 9
  • Base of idol 54 Feet, 5 + 4 = 9
  • Height of base, 18 feet, 1 + 8 = 9

Trek Start point : 
Ghorawadeshwar temple base (Reach to base from Begadewadi Railway Station)

Trek Route :
Refer to below route map, where white dots shows the approach to Birla Ganesh Temple Pune and the yellow dots shows return route to Ghorwadeshwar caves, which is through small jungle 🙂
There are two white routes which are alternate, you can choose any one of them

Trek Estimated Time :  Total 2 hours

  • 45 minutes – Ghorwadeshwar to Ganpati statue,
  • 30 minutes – Return to the Ghorwadeshwar caves,
  • 15 minutes to descend down to base
