Dhuandhar falls, Bhedaghat – on the way back from Kanha safari

By Mahesh Leave a Comment | Last Updated July 26, 2015

On the way back from Kanha, we were to catch our train at Jabalpur, by which we were able to visit Bhedaghat and Dhuandhar falls.
So we started our back journey  from Kanha at 5 am in the morning, reached bhedaghat at around 10 am.
We spent around and hour there and after enjoying the boat ride moved on to Dhuandhar falls.

Its really nice to view Dhuandhar falls, the photograph is taken around 12 noon at 1/4000 sec shutter speed to give you a frozen waterfall view (that was the best option to me at such harsh light)

It moves on through verticals of rock .. view from other side must be good one, but we did not have that time …i also saw ropeway there but again due to lack of time we decided to move on to Jabalpur for our train travel

At Bhedaghat .. marble rocks give you nice view …but do not expect them to be white like what u see at temples or homes… its dull ..may be due to the pollution …

below photo shows the Shiva pindi at one of the rocks
another view of reflections .. stone having slight different colour tone ..
I liked the water shading here … looks like the one when I was there in Switzerland …

While we reached at JAbalpur railway station we came to know that our train is 6 hours late (later it was further late by 6 hours .. so total 12 hours !) so we decided to have small visit to balancing rocks which is around 5~6 kms from the railway station ..

balancing rocks is a magic by nature .. however it is so neglected by the Jabalpur muncipal corporation that it is public toilet !! so you are not able to stay there for more than 5 minutes !!! shame on us .. to ignore such natural heritage … i was so sorry to see this ignorance …may be this is also result of money-eaters which we found at Vasota …

cheers !!
