Darya Ghat Waterfall Trek दाऱ्या घाट is one of the best off beat monsoon waterfall destination not so famous and almost untouched by tourists. Mostly trekkers go to this place, however some part of this trek is easy and can be done by anyone till the point where you can see beautiful waterfall. Darya Ghat is an ancient cattle trade route used for connecting Amboli village of the Ghat section to the Palu village in Konkan. This is similar to Nane Ghat which is also connection in between Ghat to Konkan.

You can do both Naneghat and Darya ghat in single day. Both are spaced about 25 km and you can get to the other place in an hour of drive.

Medium (if done Full, means Amboli to Palu village)

The area is also known as Mina-Maval.

Darya Ghat Trek is easy and simple, it will be a 4 hours journey (back and forth). Since the area is untouched, I suggest you to take help of local Guide so that you can get across the small streams through cloudy misty trails.

You will see beautiful rice farming around, many little streams, plenty of waterfalls en-route with mist and clouds.

Within a walk of half an hour you will reach Khinditala Bhairoba open temple, moving forward you will reach the V-shaped valley of Daarya Ghat. (total travel time will be around 1.5 to 2 hours)

Darya Ghat Waterfall Trek Attractions

Mainly its the beautiful multi step falling waterfall which is a must to see thing and then the V-shaped valley giving you magnificent misty views are two major attractions in Daarya ghat.

While you reach the V-shaped valley spot you will see a huge vertical rock wall alongwith a narrow trail which simply disappears in the misty valley. This vertical rock wall is nothing but one side of Durg Dhakoba.

You will also see a (open) temple of Lord Shiva (Pindi and Nandi)

If someone is adventurous and local guide is available feel free to explore the valley & dense forest. You can enjoy flowering if you visit somewhere in September and October months.

The waterfall is huge and falls in steps like form, looks attractive and photogenic. Take care while you enter inside the waterfall, ensure all necessary safety measures. Especially if there are kids in group.

Also there is a temple inside the waterfall, however you can reach only if the flow of the waterfall is less.

There is no dedicated place for parking in this village, so feel free to park your car at appropriate place.

There is no hotel in this village however if you like you can get home made veg/non-veg food at village Amboli.

I suggest to order food before you begin your trek, so that hot lunch is ready by the time you are back from trek.

Home stay is also available in this village.

How to Reach for Darya Ghat Waterfall Trek

Pune to Daarya ghat

Darya ghat is located at a distance of about 120 kms from Pune and this trek can be done in a single day from Pune.

Pune >> Manchar >> Narayangaon >> take right turn to Junnar (Shivaji maharaj statue) >> 100km,

Drive straight to Aptale road >> Surale village >> Aptale village (right side road goes to Naneghat) >> take the left side road to Wanewadi >> Keldare >>Utchil >>Amboli (Amboli is the base village for Darya ghat trek)

Tips & suggestions

• This is untouched and Off beat location, so suggest not to go on weekdays, but preferably on weekends so that you get some crowd.
• Get local guide alongwith you.
• Do not travel solo or couple, get along-with some group
• Do not forget to order food before going for trek, if you forget then you may have to wait till he food is prepared or then head down to hotel Daryaghat.
• Do not go for this trek if its raining too heavy
• Do not go for this trek after 5 pm (evening), if it gets dark you may get lost
• The valley has steep slopes, also trail becomes sleepary during monsoon, so do not forget to wear proper trekking gears or good quality sandles. (No floaters please)
• If its raining too heavy then do not enter inside the waterfall, the water levels can cross danger levels within few minutes, you may not get time to get out of waterfall.
• Carry a torch, in case you get too late in evening, its a must
• If you wish to trek for some distance better to have haversack.
