Shravanmasi Harsh Manasi Hirval Date Chohikade

The month of Shravan shows Hide & Seek of sun & rain, when nature is at its best. I remember my most favorite poem “Shravanmasi Harsh Manasi Hirval Date Chohikade” which is brain child of Baalkavi who was one of the most popular poet in Maharashtra, who wrote numerous Marathi poems … Well this particular poem perfectly describes the month of Shravan [Savan in Hindi] … And Shravan month is also the month of festivals in Maharashtra, India

The month of Shravan spreads greenery all over the mountains, you get to feel the refreshed nature, feel the love of nature … Just look everywhere and you see the tiny spheres of dew drops on grass & plants glittering like diamonds in morning sunlight.

The drizzling rains of Shravan gives fragrance of soil (Mrudagandha) that I like the most …

I feel it is the most delicate month of the year, as it spreads greenery allover, refreshes the nature and gives pleasure to all humans through its various shades. Rain is something I enjoy the most in this season apart from delicious food and various celebrations 😉

Sharavan is game of sun and shadows … its like Hide & Seek of sun and clouds ! and sometimes it rains even in sunlight giving birth to beautiful Rainbow !!

Shravan is also month of celebrations like Shravan Somwar (praying Lord Shiva), Mangalagauri (Godess Gauri pujan by newly wedded girls), Playing swings, Naagpanchami (Praying snakes – Naagdevta), Rakshabandhan, Kojagiri (Full moon night celebrations), Janmashtami, Gauri followed by Ganesh festival.

So here goes the lyrics of  Shravanmasi the most favorite poem of mine

Shravanmasi Harsh Manasi Hirval Date Chohikade [

New revision of Shravanmasi Harsh Manasi Hirval Date Chohikade
