Prati Balaji Temple – Ketkawale, Pune [Updated Feb 2019]

By Mahesh 52 Comments | Last Updated February 8, 2019

[social_warfare]

This Sunday I visited the Prati Balaji Temple – Ketkawale, Pune. It is really beautiful temple surrounded by greenery especially during monsoon season and maintained very well. This clone or mini replica of the Tirupati Balaji Temple is just 40~45 kms away from Pune city.

I have not been to Tirupati before, but by visiting this replica temple & looking at the magnificent architecture and the spic and span premises I am now planning to visit the original temple too 🙂

This year I visited the main Tirupati temple and got a Glimpse of God !

[click_to_tweet tweet=”How to plan Tirupati Balaji Tour by Self https://wp.me/p6vE7t-1gj” quote=”How to plan Tirupati Balaji Tour by Self “]

The temple is made using stone & wood carvings, also there are small shrines of various other god and goddesses around main temple. Though the temple is not carved with rich gold, in all sense it is equivalent to the original shrine in Tirupati.

As I entered this holy place, I got struck by the positive energy, what a holy place 🙂 I must thank to Lord Venkateshwara Charitable and Religious Trust for this effort.

The temple also provides accommodation and kitchen facilities for visiting devotees.

    Hi Swapnil,

From Thane you can get to the Mumbai-Pune express way first. Then from expressway you need not divert anywhere but go straight till Kapurhol phata .. This is the most easy and shortest possible route.

    Vipul,

The road is same, from swargate to Katraj and not to bibavewadi. This place is about 30 kms ahead from Katraj and now you have to go through Tunnel at Jambhulwadi. Katraj tunnel is closed for repairs upto June 2009.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was busy in my house warming ceremony 🙂

You can catch S.T.Bus from Swargate ST Stand for Karad or Satara or Bhor and drop down at Ketkawale corner. From there you will get autorickshaw or Jeep.

And if you get ST from Swargate to Narayanpur, then you can directly go Balaji temple itself.

    hope this helps 🙂

Any train station nearby Ketkawale? Or is there any direct bus from Mumbai to the temple?

I'd like to try these routes first before taking my family members (possibly by train, if not by taxi/car)

    Thanks

    1) nearest railway station is "Pune". you proceed to ketkawale by any ST bus moving to Satara, get down at Ketkawale corner or make private taxi/rikshaw which will be comfortable then to move to temple
    2) you can catch ST bus from Mumbai to Satara, and request conductor to get down at Ketkawale temple corner
