Day 2 – Monument Visit Karnataka & Tamilnadu



Visit to 
Vindhyagiri aka Big Hill, Shravanabelagola 
&
Chikka betta Chandragiri (small hill)



Time slot 7:00 am to 10 am – 
Doddabetta shravanabelagola (Gomteshawara darshan)

Doddabetta shravanabelagola (Gomteshawara darshan)Dodda betta ( means big hills) – it is easy to climb , stairs carved on stoned hill, Footwares to be removed at base only,20/25 min climbing , side rail for support available for older age people.

More than 800 inscriptions have been found at Shravanabelagola, dating to various times from 600 to 1830. A large number of these are found in the Chandragiri and the rest can be seen in the Indragiri and the town. Most of the inscriptions at the Chandragiri date back before the 10th century. These inscriptions include texts in the Kannada, Sanskrit, Marathi,Konkani, Tamil, Marwari and Mahajani languages

Time slot 10:00 am to 11 am – Morning bk fast

tiffin / tea at hotel Raghu , seen big water tank Pushkarani from outside.

Time slot 11:00 am to 1:00 pm –

Temples at  Chikka betta (means small hill) –  walkable from big hill ,  easy to climb , stairs carved on stoned hill,
Footwares to be removed at base only, 15  min climbing, in afternoon socs needed to wear while climbing.

Big campus at top the of small hill and Jain temples of Thirthankar. 


Time slot 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm – Lunch bk
Lunch and rest at hotel Raghu. 
Jain Math is walkable from hotel Raghu but not visited due to time constraints. 

Time slot 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm – Travel to Bangalore

Direct bus to Bangalore at 3:30 , reached Majestic Bangalore at 7 pm.
Inquired and booked Tanjor bus at majestic, KSRTS Volve (Airavat)- at 9:30 –  Rs 650  from Shantinagar double road bus stand which is 5-6 km from majestic.

Buses to Tamilnadu / Kerala  departing from Shantinagar bus stand. All KSRTC, Tamilnadu state transport and Kerala state state transport buses departing from Shantinagar bus stand , 5-6 km from Majestic.

Time slot 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm – Dinner


buses and auto rikshwa availble from majestic to shantinagar bus stand
paid  Rs 35 per person for AC VOLVE CITY BUS ( Auto rikshawa rs 110)
dinner at A2B Adyar at shaninagar stand – very good taste – you can try mini tiffin dish

Time slot 9:30 pm to 5:00 am (Day 3 begins)
Bangalore to Tanjoor 400 km (bus will stops at new bus stand , tanjvor)

Time slot 5:00 am to 6:00 am (Day 3)


from new bus stand to old bus stand by city bus  20 minits travel

Hotel Karthik , at a walkable distance from old bus stand

Hotel kartik (04362) 278662, 278663 , near to old bus stand
Non AC deluxe Rs 850 , AC Deluxe1100,
clean -bath-toilet – OK for family accomodation. Temple is at a walkable distance from hotel
Also TTTDC hotel is there in Tanjvoor  1 km from old bus stand
