Watch for the Sunrise from the peak of Maharashtra
It is said that in 1860 Mr. Arch DiCken Gale climbed Kalasubai peak at night and mesmerized by the sunrise. He mentioned Kalasubai as the King of Deccan Hills).
Being topmost peak of Maharashtra this is my first pick for Monsoon Treks Near Pune & Mumbai.
Its different to see Kalavantin durg from Prabalgad .. the steps looks interesting … u can stay at Prabal Machi to complete both treks in a day ..
Trek is simply one of the best I would say .. I have named it as Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka 🙂 due to the fact that in short span it provides you different difficulty levels, it is like playing a video game .. u win first stage .. ur difficulty level rises … u cross the second stage .. the difficulty level rises further …
Gorakhgad trek is one of the difficult but interesting trek during monsoon hence it scores third position in my list of Monsoon Treks Near Pune & Mumbai
Must visit this 2000 years old fort .. enjoy scenic views .. & 1000 years old Amruteshwar temple ..
Beauty of Ratangad and temple is unbeatable during monsoon season hence this has also taken top place in my list of Best Monsoon Treks Near Pune & Mumbai.
After completion of the trek I can surely say that it is torture trek if u walk from village Ambivili upto peth and then start the climb,
Ff there is no rain then u r gone for a toss ! all the energy will be sucked by the sun and humid atmosphere (at least for persons from pune)
One must get on to Kokan kada once in his lifetime ..
Unforgettable views from it …
Just 18 kms to & from walk from Tolar Khind way …
No doubt this is most most famous treks in Maharashtra .. Everyone goes here once in a lifetime to experience the Kokan kada beauty this is a MUST in my list of Monsoon Treks Near Pune & Mumbai
Trek to Sarasgad is good option for persons doing say second or third trek who has started from the base level and forts like Lohagad.
This is the most famous trek over the time .. now a days one can reach upto village Rajmachi by 4 wheeler (SUV) and hence it is crowdy as well as costly too (food and stay)
This was the first trek I organized on my own, that too to take our foreign guests with me !
Similarly nature has created mini replica of
Konkan kada – Harishchandragad !
And reverse waterfall here is a must visit during the monsoons ..
Jarandeshwar temple was of interest to me due to the fact that I pray Hanuman regularly and the special thing of this temple is Hanuman with mustache !
Just look at magnificient view from top of fort ..
