The Yamai Devi or Sakhargad Niwasini temple is situated in the north-central part of Satara District that is relatively unknown. A medieval period temple with influences of cut stone, lime stucco, timber framed and painted poly-chrome traditions.
You will see the fine craftsmanship, kitsch folk art, graceful fusion of Yadava Period and Bahamani styles of architecture.
This is a must to visit temple during your trek to Kalyangad and Jarandeshwar.
Also do not forget to look in the Kinhai Village which consists of craftsmanship in the brick, stone, clay tile and wood buildings as also the wadas and temples as examples of local architecture.
